  • Liposuction Cost in Dubai: What Really Affects the Price (2026 Guide)

Short answer: Liposuction cost in Dubai depends mainly on how many areas are treated, the technique used, the type of anaesthesia, and where the surgery is done (a licensed hospital or a day-surgery centre). A small single area under local anaesthesia sits at the lower end. Several areas, high-definition sculpting or full-body liposuction under general anaesthesia in a hospital costs more. You can only get an accurate quote after a surgeon has examined you in person.

As a plastic surgeon in Dubai who has performed more than 10,000 liposuction procedures, I get asked about price at almost every consultation. In this guide I explain what you are actually paying for, so you can compare quotes properly and choose safety over a headline price.

Why liposuction prices in Dubai vary so much

Two patients can both ask for “liposuction of the tummy” and get very different quotes. That isn’t because one clinic is being unfair. The procedure each patient needs is different. These are the main factors:

    1. The number and size of areas

Liposuction is usually priced by area. Removing fat from under the chin is a much smaller procedure than treating the abdomen, flanks and back together. Full-body liposuction takes longer in theatre and needs more planning, fluid management and aftercare. That is reflected in the price.

    2. The technique

    • Traditional tumescent liposuction removes fat to reduce volume and improve shape.
    • Power-assisted or ultrasound-assisted (VASER) liposuction can help in fibrous areas such as the back, or in revision cases.
    • High-definition (HD) liposuction sculpts the muscle lines underneath the fat. It needs more surgical time and a lot of experience.
    • Liposuction combined with fat transfer (to the buttocks, breasts or face) adds a second procedure.

    3. The type of anaesthesia

Small areas can often be treated under local anaesthesia, sometimes with light sedation. Larger or multiple areas are usually done under general anaesthesia with a consultant anaesthetist. That adds to the cost, but it also adds a layer of safety monitoring.

    4. The facility

In Dubai, liposuction should only be done in a facility licensed by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) for that level of surgery. A hospital setting includes the operating theatre, recovery nursing and, if needed, an overnight stay. I operate at Dubai London Hospital in Jumeirah, which gives my patients full hospital back-up.

    5. The surgeon’s experience

Liposuction looks simple, but it isn’t. Smooth, even results with no dents or contour problems depend on the surgeon’s judgment, technique and experience. Correcting a poor result later usually costs far more than doing it well the first time.

    6. What is included in your package

    Ask whether your quote includes:

    • the consultation and pre-operative blood tests
    • surgeon, anaesthetist and hospital fees
    • compression garments
    • medicines
    • post-operative follow-up visits and any lymphatic drainage sessions

How each factor affects your quote

    FactorUsually lower costUsually higher cost
Areas treatedOne small area (e.g. chin)Several areas or full body
TechniqueStandard tumescentVASER, HD sculpting, fat transfer
AnaesthesiaLocal, with or without sedationGeneral anaesthesia
FacilityLicensed day-surgery centreHospital with overnight stay
AftercareBasic follow-upGarments, drainage sessions, long-term reviews

Warning signs of a “too cheap” liposuction offer

I regularly see patients who chose a deal based on price and now need corrective surgery. Be careful if:

    • The price is fixed before anyone has examined you.
    • You can’t confirm the surgeon’s specialist plastic surgery licence.
    • The facility isn’t a licensed surgical centre or hospital.
    • Large volumes or many areas are promised in one session with no mention of the DHA limits (5 litres, or 2 litres with a tummy tuck or body lift).
    • No anaesthetist is mentioned, or nobody explains who monitors you after surgery.
    • There is pressure to book on the same day.

You can check a doctor’s licence on the Dubai Health Authority’s official website. Read more about the risks of plastic surgery and how to reduce them.

    Is liposuction a weight-loss treatment?

No. Liposuction is a body-contouring procedure. It works best for people who are near their goal weight but have stubborn fat in certain areas that doesn’t respond to diet and exercise, such as the abdomen, flanks, thighs, arms or chin. If you have significant loose skin, a tummy tuck or lipoabdominoplasty may suit you better.

How much fat can be removed safely? The DHA limits

Under Dubai Health Authority (DHA) guidelines, the maximum amount that can be removed by liposuction in one session is 5,000 ml (5 litres). If liposuction is combined with a tummy tuck or body lift, the maximum permissible safe limit is lower: 2,000 ml (2 litres).

Because of this limit, I don’t try to remove as much fat as possible. I focus on the areas that will make the biggest difference to your shape and that will still look in proportion in the long term. A well-chosen 5 litres from the right areas gives a far better, more natural result than fat taken evenly from everywhere. Safety always comes before volume.

What recovery looks like in Dubai

    • First few days: swelling, bruising and soreness, managed with medication and a compression garment.
    • Around one week: most people return to desk work, depending on the extent of surgery.
    • 4–6 weeks: you wear the compression garment and gradually return to exercise.
    • 3–6 months: swelling settles and the final contour appears.

Dubai’s heat matters. Garments feel warmer in summer, so stay well hydrated, keep cool indoors and avoid direct sun on healing areas. Many patients plan surgery for the cooler months. Here is how to prepare for plastic surgery.

How to get an accurate quote

The only reliable way to know your cost is a consultation. During it I:

    • assess your fat distribution, skin quality and medical history
    • discuss realistic goals
    • recommend the right technique and number of areas
    • give you a written, itemised quote

The final surgical plan and price are confirmed only after this examination. International patients can start with photographs and a virtual consultation, but the plan is confirmed in person before surgery.

    Frequently asked questions

How much does liposuction cost in Dubai?

It depends on the number of areas, the technique, the anaesthesia and the facility. One small area costs much less than full-body or high-definition liposuction. You will get a written, itemised quote after an in-person consultation.

Is liposuction cheaper if I treat several areas at once?

Combining areas in one session often costs less than treating each area separately, because you pay hospital and anaesthesia fees once. However, the total must stay within the DHA limit of 5 litres per session, or 2 litres when liposuction is combined with a tummy tuck or body lift.

Does insurance cover liposuction in the UAE?

Cosmetic liposuction is generally not covered by health insurance in the UAE. Check your own policy with your insurer.

How long do liposuction results last?

The fat cells removed do not come back. Remaining fat cells can still grow if you gain weight, so a stable weight and a healthy lifestyle help keep your results.

When can I go back to work after liposuction?

Most patients return to desk work within about a week. Physically demanding work and strenuous exercise usually wait four to six weeks, depending on the extent of surgery.

What is the maximum amount of liposuction allowed in Dubai?

Under DHA guidelines, the maximum is 5,000 ml (5 litres) in one session. When liposuction is combined with a tummy tuck or body lift, the maximum permissible safe limit is 2,000 ml (2 litres).
